Selangor State Government Education Loan

The Selangor State Government invites eligible students who are pursuing higher education at the local public and private higher learning institutions to apply for the education loans for the year 2012.

a) Eligibility for Application

1. Only Malaysian students born in Selangor or one of the parents born in Selangor. Otherwise proof from ADUN/Penghulu/Pengerusi JKKK/Ketua Kampung that you have stayed or lived in Selangor for more than 5 years.
2. Only for local programmes.
3. Priority to students who are not holding or receiving other financial assistance.
4. Students with good academic achievement and currently not in the last year of studies.

b) Application Deadline : 29 February 2012.

c) Value of Award : RM7,000 (medicine) per year / RM6,500 (for other programmes) per year

d) Application Procedure

1. Application is online. Official website – http://tkwbns.selangor.gov.my
2. Completed online application must be printed as hard copy to obtain endorsement from certain authorities. The hard copy and the supporting documents must also be submitted to the Selangor State Government Office latest by the application deadline.
3. All applications must be accompanied by all required supporting documents in accordance with the checklist in the application form by ticking (√) in the relevant boxes.
4. All photocopied documents must be certified true copy by any government officers (Category A/Management & Professional)/Principal/Headmaster only.
5. Declaration letter on residency (if applicant/father/mother of applicant was not born in Selangor)
6. Declaration letter on income (if applicant/father/mother of applicant is not working/retired/self-employed) must be endorsed by ADUN/Penghulu/Pengerusi JKKK/Ketua Kampung only.
7. Incomplete applications, either incomplete details or incomplete supporting documents, will not be entertained.
8. Applicants can check their application status online one month after the application deadline.

e) Academic Requirements

First Degree Level of Study

– Obtain CGPA 2.50 or better at Foundation/Matriculation/Diploma level

OR

– Obtain minimum grade C in 4 subjects at STPM level

Applicants may check their application status online 1 month after the application deadline. If you do not receive any feedback within 3 months after the application deadline, your application is deemed unsuccessful.
